Our goal is to bring together emerging leaders from across Europe and give them the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of European politics, and Israel from legal, historical, and faith perspectives — and of how to combat antisemitism.
The Moment
Europe is at an inflection point. The values that have shaped its civilisation — rooted in Judaeo-Christian heritage, committed to human dignity and democratic life — can no longer be assumed. They must be chosen. And the next generation, the ones who will choose them, is coming of age right now.
This is the moment the Young Leaders Academy was created for.
About ECI
The European Coalition for Israel is a Brussels-based advocacy organisation with over two decades of experience working at the intersection of European politics and Israel advocacy.
With deep relationships across the European Parliament and a track record of principled, non-partisan engagement, ECI is one of the most trusted voices in Europe on matters concerning Israel, Jewish-Christian relations, and the moral direction of European policy.
YLA grows directly out of that foundation and inherits its access, its relationships, and its reputation.
What is YLA?
The Young Leaders Academy is a formation programme designed to identify and invest in the next generation of European advocates — young people who are ready to stand for Israel, for their shared heritage, and for a Europe where Jews and Christians can live without fear.
It begins with an immersive three-day gathering in Brussels and grows into a lasting community. Leadership is built over time, through relationships, through access, and through a community that holds you accountable to something larger than yourself.
More than a programme. YLA begins with a gathering. It stays as a community. The three days in Brussels are the entry point into a long-term European community of young leaders. Being part of YLA means ongoing connection — a book club and learning community, study visits, a growing fellowship across Europe and beyond. Designed to grow with you.
Twice a year, participants come to Brussels for an immersive three-day gathering at the heart of European political life. Throughout the three dynamic days, selected participants engage with leaders, diplomats, and advocates — leaving with relationships, knowledge, and conviction. Travel and accommodation are covered by ECI.
Meet & Learn
Participants meet with ECI staff to learn about the vision and work of ECI, with Members of the European Parliament, EU officials, and Israeli diplomats.
Engage & Debate
Jewish civil society representatives and Israeli diplomats lead Q&A sessions. Participants gain exposure to policy processes and advocacy in practice.
Build Community
Build a cross-border community with peers who share their convictions. Travel and accommodation are covered by ECI.
Young Leaders Academy alumni are already serving in positions of real influence across Europe. One alumnus serves as a senior staff member in the Office of the Prime Minister of a key EU member state. Another was nominated Secretary General of a parliamentary group. A third is a Member of Parliament within the third largest party in her country.
Who Is YLA For?
YLA is for the young European who feels the weight of this moment and is looking for somewhere to put it. Someone who cares about Europe's future, who takes seriously the connection between Judaeo-Christian values and the continent's identity, and who is ready to do something about it.
